Super sustainable seafood box

We are delighted to announce a new collaboration with Cornish ethical seafood Company, Fish For Thought.

Celebrating the best of sustainable Cornish seafood, Fish For Thought are now offering a 'super sustainable seafood box' which is entirely made up of seafood from the Cornwall Good Seafood guide recommended list, including, netted hake fillets, fresh line-caught mackerel boneless fillets, fabulous pot caught crab and tomato soup, trawl caught plaice fillets and farmed mussels (optional). The eco friendly box, (with lambswool insulation and frozen gel packs- no polystyrene in sight!) comes with instructions for cooking and several delicious sauces to accompany the fish.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust's Marine Conservation Officer Abby Crosby was sent a box to try and reports:

"From the packaging and attention to sustainability, to the fresh and perfectly filleted fish, this is the most amazing fish box of the highest quality. I love fish so am a biased reviewer, but the key person is my partner who would never choose fish as a meal of choice and who absolutely loved each dish, particularly the hake. Served with fresh green veg and some new potatoes, and with the amazing pea puree provided, it was one of the best meals we have had at home in a long time. Restaurant quality. We never buy fish from the supermarket – the quality is always average and you are never 100% sure of its origins and catch method. And now, via fish for Thought, we are able to enjoy fish again knowing it will be is from local and sustainable fisheries and I am delighted."

Cornwall Good Seafood Guide project manager Matt Slater explained; "We are so lucky in Cornwall to have a wealth of excellent seafood and a community of fantastic seafood sellers who we work with closely.

The difference with this new initiative is that Fish for Thought have gone that extra mile to publicly offer a box that only features items from our recommended list, and for every box sold a donation of £5 is being made to Cornwall Wildlife Trust to help them continue the great work of Cornwall Good Seafood Guide.

Massive thanks to Fish for Thought."
