FiSH

Description

Effectively we are a FiSH Bar and Restaurant, housed on a well known Dutch barge in on Bristol’s Welshback. The boat is one whole with two functionalities – a restaurant and a takeaway with a strong focus on fish and shellfish caught in the British Isles. The FiSH Restaurant is a relaxed, fun and theatrical affair. Bright coloured benches line the water fronted windows, there is that usual restaurant humm of music and chatter, only interrupted by a smash of a mallet and a glance at a crab claw gone rouge. Bibs and mallets are on call for these welcomed messy affairs. The FiSH Restaurant is where you can come and sit by the water for a quick bowl of deep sea mussels or indulge in a longer sitting – think cracked Dorset Crab with mayonnaise, a fillet of plaice fried in breadcrumbs with tartare sauce or a sole grilled on the bone. You will be kept well refreshed by our central beer fountain providing cold local Beers and a simple, coastal inspired, fish focused wine list, which leans towards the natural side of the vine. Outside benches provide seating for our FiSH Bar that will tender to the takeout – fish sourced daily from Devon and Cornish markets, from healthy stocks, fried simply in local beer batter and served with hand cut chips, some mashed, minted peas and tartare sauce, or our house made salmon fish cake or perhaps a cone of freshly fried squid and shrimps? As with our restaurants approach, the same applies to our FiSH bar…simplicity prevails when it comes to FiSH.
