Ken Symons is a highly experienced, award winning chef, having learned his trade at Falmouth's Green Lawns hotel (now Merchants Manor) where he became head chef, he then worked for many years in the Dorchester Hotel in London and other restaurants before returning to his native Falmouth. On his return he worked again at the Green Lawns, this time as executive chef and later set up his own restaurant, Oliver's, on Falmouth High street, which he ran for 10 years.
Ken is now a free lance chef working with several charities and indusry friends.
He supports the work of Cornwall Good Seafood guide and is passionate about seafood. In the winter of 2020 Ken kindly provided us a series of eight fantastic seafood recipes that can be found here on Cornwall Good Seafood Guide.
"My passion for great Cornish produce has never wavered, championing local artisan producers at every opportunity. I simply love food - cooking, eating and growing. With forty years experience within the restaurant and banquet industry and a wealth of awards behind me, including best westcountry chef and restaurant of the year.
